Happy Place by Emily Henry
Happy Place by Emily Henry was the most anticipated release of 2023 and romance book lovers are still talking about it in 2024. If you are a mood reader who likes romance books that have depth but still are easy to binge-read, then this is probably a book for you. Some say that this is the coziest Emily Henry book she ever wrote.
The plot is built around a friend group and their connection and chemistry but the main focus is on Harriet and Wyn. This is a past and present point of view as they were engaged and now they are broken up but they didn’t tell their friends. Happy Place places importance on friendships and how valuable they are no matter the stage in your life. The connections that all of the different characters had, not just the main protagonists, are so well written.
The Fine Print by Lauren Asher
The Fine Print by Lauren Asher is the first book in the Dreamland Billionaires trilogy. It gained a big popularity on Booktok as a lot of romance readers binge-read it from the first page. This book is set in Dreamland which is a theme park similar to Disneyland. We are following Rowan the director of Dreamland and Zahra is Dreamland’s creative assistant. It combines both lighthearted and some heavier and more deep topics which makes this book a real rollercoaster. You can sense the grumpy sunshine trope as Rowan is dealing with some personal battles so he acts standoffish and arrogant.
It is a perfect Summer book as it will grab your attention and you will be able to get through it fast as the chapters are short and make you want to continue reading more. Lauren Asher did a great job connecting two characters who come from completely different backgrounds and merge into each other’s worlds.
Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover
Colleen Hoover is known for her romance books that are easy to read and make you dive into the character’s world. Although there are different opinions about her writing style and popularity, if you are a romance reader then you will probably enjoy at least one of her books. I recommend starting with Maybe Someday. It is a very cute romance book that has some cheesy and unrealistic elements that make it so entertaining.
Maybe Someday is the first book from a Maybe trilogy. It follows a dual point of view, Sydney’s and Ridge’s. Sydney finds out her boyfriend is cheating on her so she moves in with a guy that she doesn’t know personally that well. The chemistry between the two main characters is on point and each of their interactions is making you want to read more.
Once Upon a Marquess by Courtney Milan
Once Upon a Marquess is one of those not-so-well-known books that when you read it you want more. If you are a fan of the Bridgerton series then this might be a book you will love. This is a second-chance romance book that has all the drama, chemistry, and mystery to make you want to read it in one go. The story follows Judith Worth and Christian Trent. The interactions between the two main characters are so well written and their banter is so natural.
The depth of the emotional complexity that comes with second-chance romance is beautifully portrayed. If you enjoy a mixture of deep and real struggles that characters go through with a sprinkle of humor that makes you both happy and sorrowful, then this is a perfect romance book for you. The great news is that it is a part of the series so you’ll be able to stay in this world longer.
Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman
Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine is a quirky and heartwarming book that makes you relate to and sympathize with the main character. This book offers a unique perspective on human connection and how we all have different experiences with social interactions. The story can feel melancholic at times but Gail does such an amazing job adding humor with Eleanor’s social misinterpretations and blunt observations.
This book covers some very important topics as loneliness and social awkwardness and how we all deal with our battles but the world and people are kinder if we let them be.
Now is the perfect time to grab your favorite iced beverage, find a comfy reading nook, and dive into these captivating stories. With a mix of interesting tropes and swoon-worthy moments, these books will make your Summer even better.
Which romance book are you choosing this Summer?
