Spending time with family should always be a priority but especially around the holidays when it really is all about love and spreading that joy with others. There are so many amazing activities you could do with your favorite ones from building a snowman, decorating your home and Christmas tree to watching movies together.
PLAY BORD GAMES
Gathering in the living room while the Christmas songs are on and all the fun board games on the table is the best feeling ever. It’s crazy how quickly time flies when you’re having fun with your family and all the amazing board games. My family and I love to play cards or any other game when we’re together. It’s something we have been doing for as long as I can remember. If you still don’t know what you’ll get your family for Christmas then board game may be the best choice. It’s a great way to connect with your family without distraction of social media. Having a quality time where you can talk and have fun is always important but even more in the holiday season.
BAKE & DECORATE COOKIES
Second best place to spend your time with family is definitely kitchen. Food is something that always brings us together so it’s surely the same at Christmas time. Baking and decorating cookies is a great tradition that you should definitely start with your family if you’re not doing it already. I can guarantee that at least kids will love it. It’s an amazing way for them to be creative and to actually help with preparing for Christmas. If you enjoy baking than you know how much fun it is and how extra fun would it be to do it with your family members. You can even make a competition from it and separate in teams to see which cookie decorating skills are better.
GO SLEDDING OR ON A EVENING WALK
As much as the warmth of your home may make you want to stay inside going outside can bring you even more winter joy. If you live in the countryside you can bring all your family outside for sledding and if you live in city why wouldn’t you go ice skating. There are so many winter activities you can do outside with you family and it would be a shame not to use them. Taking a evening walk while the snow is falling or just driving through your neighborhood to watch all the fairy lights and Christmas decorations will put you in even more festive mood.
VISIT CHRISTMAS MARKET
If you’ve never visited a Christmas market you really need to. It’s the most festive and joyful place. It’s not only that you’ll enjoy it with your family but also with everybody around you. It’s definitely a place when you can’t feel anything but happiness and Christmas spirit. They really bring that traditional feeling to it. I definitely recommend going on a nearby market but if you have opportunity to go on one in different city or country then you really should. I’ve been to Christmas market in Vienna and I was thrilled. I definitely recommend you to come to Zagreb as it was pronounced the best Christmas market in Europe.
