INGREDIENTS FOR DOUGH
- 500g flour
- 1 bag of dry yeast
- 1 egg
- 70 g sugar
- 1.5 dl milk
- 100 g butter
- 0.5 dl water
INGREDIENTS FOR FILLING
- 100 g melted butter
- cinnamon
- sugar
PREPARATION
- Start by stimulating the yeast: Put it in a small bowl with lukewarm water. Stir thoroughly, then let sit for 5 minutes. You'll know that your yeast is ready when you see the bubbles.
- Add all ingredients to a bowl. You can either knead the dough by hand or use a stand mixer if you have one. I knead the dough by hand.
- When all the ingredients are combined and you got a cohesive dough put a kitchen towel over the bowl and let it sit somewhere warm until doubled in size.
- Sprinkle flour on your surface and roll the dough in a rectangle shape. It doesn't need to be perfect. Spread melted butter over the dough and add cinnamon and sugar. I don't have a specific measure for cinnamon sugar. This depends on your taste.
- Fold the edges at the shorter side and start rolling the dough from the wide side. I use my index and middle finger as a measure of where to cut. This depends on how big or small you want your cinnamon rolls to be.
- Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
- Press cinnamon rolls down with your fingers and add melted butter on top of them. Bake them for around 15 minutes.
