It is easy to get sucked into the monotony of everyday life. Days just feel black and white. What we all need is a little bit of color. We forget about all the activities that can free our creativity and make our lives much more colorful. No, you don't need to go to a ceramic class or pay to learn how to paint. There are so many creative activities you can do in the comfort of your home and with that for free. You probably already have all you need to start just purely having fun while creating something beautiful. So leave whatever you are doing now and just pick one or a few of these things and take some time to create.
CALLIGRAPHY
Have you ever thought about handwriting? Every person has a unique one. Some people naturally have beautiful handwriting. On the other hand, there are also those whose handwriting is just plain or you can't even understand it. From the first time, we learn how to write until now our handwriting changed. In the past few years, calligraphy became very popular. If you maybe don't know what exactly it is, calligraphy is visual art that is related to writing. It is like writing in different fonts you use on your computer but with your hand. Those who usually enjoy writing could find this activity interesting and relaxing.
There are a lot of videos you can watch and learn how to do it. You can go from the beginner's level to learn all the basics. It is also great if you like artistic bullet journaling as using different fonts will make it even more beautiful. Calligraphy is definitely something that takes time and patience. It is all in the movements of your hand which are not natural to it. It is something that you will get better at as much as you're trying. I tried it in the past and it is quite challenging but once you get a hang of it becomes easier and fun to do.
DIY PROJECTS
The ultimate creative activity that most of you probably already tried in the past. Do-it-yourself projects are endless and everyone can find something for themselves. They are a great way to be creative while actually making something useful. Of course, the first source for DIY projects is Pinterest. Just typing DIY in the search bar will list hundreds of amazing and simple projects you can start doing right now. You don't need to have fancy equipment or toolbox to start doing DIY projects. Some of them can even end up looking better than the store made ones. One of the reasons why so many people like do-it-yourself projects are that they are one of a kind.
You won't be able to buy the thing you made anywhere else. The act of making something is very therapeutic and will leave you with a feeling of satisfaction once you're done. If there is any decoration or furniture that needs a little bit of spicing up, be sure to give them a new life. This is a great way to let your creativity out and have fun at the same time. You don't need to make a masterpiece from scratch. There are a lot of things you can recycle and give them a new purpose. So let's start DIY-in.
PHOTOGRAPHY
This is personally my favorite way to get creative and in a zone. I know that a lot of people enjoy photography but few of them actually get experimental with it. Most people think that they need an expensive camera and all the other equipment to take amazing photos. That is definitely not the truth. Nowaday's you can capture beautiful photos with only your phone. You might be one of those who do own camera and are bored of shooting the same things over and over again. When it comes to photography it is all in the perspective. We tend to focus only on one angle while there are so many different ones we could shoot from. Choose one object and shoot it from different angles and see what you'll end up with.
Something I've been into lately is creative photography. You can find inspiration on YouTube or Pinterest. So many amazing photographers have a lot of great tips for beginners or those who want to take their photography game to another level. Photography is fun if you make it that way. All you need to do is to take your camera and explore. You'll soon realize that even without a camera you will notice things worth photographing. Another creative thing is to get your photos printed or framed. The options are endless from the object to the settings.
MAKE A COLLAGE
Aesthetic collages are all over the internet and I can definitely tell why. They are a nice and creative way to spend our time. If you have old magazines you don't read anymore but don't want to throw away either, then why not make a lovely collage out of them. To make it even more interesting to make a collage, give it a meaning. I'm sure that you've heard a lot about dream boards. They are a helpful way to visualize your dreams and your future. Cutting out photos from magazines and inspirational quotes will make your collage look aesthetically pleasing and will motivate you to work towards your dreams.
If you have a bullet journal you can also incorporate your collage into it so you can always go back to it when you need that extra motivation. Just do it your way and you will end up with a fantastic piece of art. You can always only make it for artistic purposes. I always encourage you to look for inspiration if you can't think of anything yourself. There are a lot of great examples on Pinterest. They will make you want to start cutting and gluing right away.
INTERIOR DESIGN
Yes, interior design is one of the ways you can get creative. I'm sure that a lot of you have a Pinterest board dedicated to home decor, I surely have. Interior design is thrilling and fun as it is involved with your surrounding. If you are one of those people whose emotions and mindset is greatly influenced by their surrounding then interior design is perfect for you. No, you don't need to renovate your home from start to bottom. There is joy in detail. Just arranging your decor a little bit different or repairing an old piece of furniture will make the whole room look like a new one.
Moving furniture to a different part of the room that you never even though of might make the whole space brighter and bigger. Interior design is how you can see your creativity implemented in the things and space around you. It is something you can do once in a while to spice things up a little bit. The best thing is that you don't need to spend a lot of money, just a little tweak here and there will immediately make a big change. Options are endless.
