For most of the people drinking coffee in the morning is necessary. I know so many people that just can’t wake up if they don’t drink anything with caffeine immediately after they’re out of the bed. That’s not case with me as I don’t drink coffee. I never did and I probably never will. I tried to like it but it just doesn’t suit me.
There are a lot of quotes saying “Life begins after coffee.” or “First I drink the coffee then I do the things.” Which definitely doesn’t apply to me but I’m sure that they don’t to some of you as well.
I actually know equal amount of people who like and dislike coffee which is very interesting as it may be indicated that coffee is something that everybody loves. If you want to quit coffee or try some other methods of waking up here are some that will maybe work for you.
FAKE IT
Sometimes you just need to fake it till you make it. If you’re not a morning person and you think that only coffee can make those early mornings bearable it’s not truth. Most of the times it’s all just in your head. Maybe you dislike mornings because of the school, college or work waiting for you. With the sound of alarm immediately get out of the bed and act like you’re wide awake. I know that it’s easier to say then do but it’s possible. Get excited about the day ahead and all the fun and interesting possibilities and challenges ahead of you. While you’ll acting like your super awake it’ll became a habit and your body and brain will get used to it and find it natural.
You’ll have a great start of the day and you’ll be ready to conquer all of the tasks and obligations you have ahead of you. Just give it a go, laugh out laude, take a few deep breaths and start your day on the right foot.
GET GOING
The worst thing you can do is to hit the snooze button. It’ll make you even more grumpy and sleepy. Force yourself to get out of the bed immediately. Jump if you need to but just do it. Something that helps me is to put my phone on the other part of the room so that I need to get out of the bed to turn off the alarm. Once you get yourself out from sleep you’ll be ready to get going. Try to find your routine so that you’re body do it out of habit. It’s scientifically proven that we need to do for 21 one day for it to become a habit. Try to do it as often as you can. Sit down and make yourself a breakfast at it’ll give you energy. Plan your day and make a to-do list so you will know where you need to direct that energy.
Something I find very helpful is called a 5 second rule. No it’s not the rule about dropping food it’s about acting immediately when you want something. So when you need to get up in the morning you need to physically move in 5 second otherwise your brain will shut that idea down.
SLEEP WELL
To have a great morning you need to have an amazing night. Having a quality night sleep is so important. If you can’t fall asleep or if you don’t have a night routine your sleeping pattern will be messed up and that means that your mornings won’t be very good as well. Sleeping at least 8 hours a day is necessary for you to have a great start of the new day. If you drink more than one cup of coffee or any other caffeinated drink it may cause bad night sleep. It would be probably better to skip that afternoon coffee or just replace it with something healthier. Green tea could work amazing as it has caffeine but it’s completely natural and in smaller dozes.
Have a proper routine. Try to eat dinner few hours before you go to sleep and have a cup of tea as it can help you relax before bedtime. Turn off all of your technology at least 30 minutes before you head to sleep as the light from phone or TV can trick your mind that it’s daytime.
There is nothing wrong whit drinking coffee in the morning but just don’t let it be something you can’t start your day without. Don’t let it control your day or the way that you see it. Although I don't like to drink coffee I sure like to use it in my photos. hehe
