Homebody
Noun., A person who enjoys the warmth and simple pleasures of being at home.
I'm a homebody. I realized that few years ago. While most of my friends were going out on the parties I would stay in my bedroom and read, or watch movies. I don't drink and smoke so going out every weekend just wasn't my cup of tea. I chose the comfort and warmth of my bedroom over the going out and partying all night. The best part is that I never thought that I'm missing something or that I'm hiding from the world. For me being a "homebody" doesn't necessarily mean that I don't like to go out and hang with my friends or that I always choose home over exploring new things. It just means that I find my home the place where I know I can always go back to and stay as long as I want.
Adventurer
Noun., a person who has, enjoys, or seeks adventures
I think that the biggest misconception is that homebody is somebody who is old and sad, someone who is introvert and doesn't like company of others. I think that this fallacy couldn't be further from the truth. I'm going to be twenty this year and I know so many teenage girls and boys who are homebody's but society makes them feel like this isn't normal for their age. I don't understand why it needs to be home vs adventure. You can enjoy exploring new places and going on big adventures but still appreciate the pleasure of staying at home. As well as some may only be a homebody and other only a adventurer.
Are you an adventures homebody?
